I just found a Geo Tracker with 33's at a good price. I am going out to check it but wanted to get some opions from list members as to what they thought, heard, have experienced with this particular vehicle. #1 I got a chance to get a tracker for free. Needs some work because people tried to work on it. But it's free an hard to turn down. I looked for a post on here were people had cut them up to make a poor man sidexside but can't find it. Just looking for ideas.

This one is a 1996 model wearing a Geo badge on its hood, and it has just 65,000 miles on the odometer. It has 4-wheel drive, a 5-speed manual transmission and a removable hardtop. While it's got some rust on the driver's side rocker panel, everything else looks pretty good.

The objective with this build was to create an alternative to the somewhat expensive belt driven side by sides which have dominated the off road market.

I can get a Polaris with the Voltronix Lithium conversion (used) for 15 grand: Polaris. Or, I can get a Geo Tracker (148,000 miles of used) for $4,500. Upsides, Geo Tracker has air conditioning and is fully enclosed. Downsides, not as quiet as an EV, but still quieter than most UTVs and side-by-sides. Also lots older and parts could be a concern.

The owner has 4 wheelers, side by sides, dirtbikes, tractors, and an ol beat up geo tracker. My cousin uses the geo 95% of the time especially in bad weather. It will go anywhere, and most the time in 2 wd.

Re: SXS UTV Build - 1997 Geo Tracker 4 door. I used 2000 Chevy Tracker 4cyl front coils on my 1997 Geo Tracker. Using coils that lift the front, you will notice the control arm spring perch becomes a worse angle. Combined with the Hagen widening mod, my lower spring perch needed some re-adjusting. I used a couple of nuts to create a solid.

Traction is fantastic, even with crappy street tires. I see that the Mule Pro FXT is larger than most UTVS, and weighs in at 1900#, with a cargo bed cap of 1000#. $16K MSRP. Much better for me would have been to start with a Geo Tracker with the 1.6 FI engine and auto trans.
